The interwebs are awash with overnight experts popping up everywhere, all selling their oodles of knowledge about AI.

Whether you are a big fan or plan on steering clear, you are probably already using some sort of AI without even realising it.

And you have more than likely been using some version of AI-driven software or tools for some time now.

Common AI Tools

• Spellcheck

• Tools like Grammarly or Prowriting Ad

• Canva

• Siri

• Otter.ai for transcribing text

• Or ever interacted with a chatbot, you have or are already using AI.

If you have taken the leap and started dabbling with ChatGPT, Jasper, Wordtune or the like, and published some of the content you created online. Google knows.

But, so long as the quality of the content you have created is high and that none of what you have published is plagiarism, Google can spot it but it’s fine.

Latest 2024 Google AI Update

Google is Cutting Spam Content by 40%.

On March 9, 2024, Google announced a major update to its ranking system and spam policies.

In a nutshell:

• Google will remove up to 40% of low-quality, unoriginal, unhelpful content from its index
• Google’s new anti-spam policies will specifically target abuses of scaled content, site reputation, and expired domains.

Tips for creating high-quality content

• Focus on the quality of the content – make sure it’s helpful
• Use E.E.A.T. (Expertise, Experience, Authority and Trust) 
  The framework that Google uses to identify good quality content.
• Less is more – quality over quantity
• Google’s focus continues to be on rewarding high-quality, helpful content.
